Everything below describes what happens when you use this site and its test. Nothing else is collected anywhere.

That is the complete list. There is no advertising cookie, no retargeting pixel, no fingerprinting script, no data broker and no card processor, because there is nothing to charge for — a point our editorial position treats as load-bearing rather than decorative. The three browser-side values are named individually on the local-storage page.
Why your answers never reach us
The scoring procedure is documented step by step, and the short version is that it happens where you are. Item presentation, answer capture, scoring and the percentile lookup all execute as JavaScript on your own device. There is no request that carries your answers off the machine. A practical consequence worth stating: if you ask us for a copy of your responses, we cannot produce them, and if a court asked, the answer would be the same.
What the test sends us
Nothing. There is no email field and no card field anywhere on this site, so neither an address nor payment data exists to collect. The result is drawn on the same page the moment you finish, which is why there is no submit step at the end of the test.
The address is used to send you your result and, if you have not opted out, occasional messages from this site. Every one carries an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete the record entirely at any point.
Server logs
Our host records the ordinary request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — which is how any web server stays secure and diagnosable. Logs are retained briefly for operations and are not assembled into profiles or matched against gate submissions.

- Legitimate interests — keeping the site available, secure and diagnosable.
- Legal obligation — where retention or disclosure is required of us.
Exercising your rights
Depending where you live you may be entitled to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable form, and opt out of any sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information and have not done so in the previous twelve months. Californian readers additionally cannot be treated worse for exercising these rights.
Write to [email protected], or use the contact form and pick the data option. We reply inside one month. For most access requests the answer is short, because the only record tied to you is an address and a number — and our guide to the scale will tell you more about what that number means than any file we hold.
Under-16s
The test is written for ages 16 and over and this site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly hold data from children. If you believe a child has submitted an address here, tell us and it will be deleted without needing to explain why.
Processors, transfers and security
If you use the contact form, that provider and our email host may process data outside your country under standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard. The site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure — the mitigation here is that we deliberately hold almost nothing worth taking.
Changes
This policy sits alongside the terms governing this site, which set out what it is and how a score may be used, and the reviewer page, which records who checked the scientific content and when. If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the review date at the top changes with it and the inventory table above is updated first. That table is the authoritative part of this page; if it and the prose ever disagree, the table is what we will be held to.
